Plastigageis a precision measuring tool designed to provide a final check of total vertical oil clearance during engine reassembly. It is not intended to replace the need for accurate measurements of crankshaft journals, housing bores, and bearing dimensions using micrometers and gauges prior to engine reassembly. Available in four sizes, Plastigage is color-coded for easy identification and dissolves completely in oil. Each package includes a measuring scale printed in inches and millimeters.
